 SURVIVOR: OUTDOOR SURVIVAL SKILLS

2nd - 6th grade $225.00

Are you ready for an unforgettable adventure? Then join us for outdoor survival camp:

where the classroom becomes the wilderness! Students will learn the necessary skills such as water location, food identification, shelter construction, wilderness medicine, outdoor navigation, and much more to survive in the unforgiving desert. Don’t miss this special opportunity that will prepare your student for future wilderness hiking and backpacking adventures!

We’ll learn to use solar stills, and learn how to cure and dehydrate our foods so that we can travel without a cold pack. We’ll learn what we can and cannot eat from the desert. Yum! That teddy bear cactus looks really good! We’ll learn to make a proper fire and construct a shelter from what’s available in the wilderness. We’ll test ourselves with compasses: can we find our way home?

Josh Parafinik has his masters in Adventure Education. His main areas of professional training and expertise include adventure education and adventure-based counseling, wilderness trips and outdoor classes, and utilization of adventure activities to build moral character. He is currently the Director of Faith Outdoors, which provides valley residents with team building workshops, outdoor classes, adventure trips, and family programs.
